Dublinia
Dublinia is a fascinating museum in Dublin that offers a deep dive into the city’s Viking and medieval history. Located in the heart of the city, just in front of Christ Church Cathedral, Dublinia is a perfect spot for a weekend visit. The museum is divided into three floors, each dedicated to different historical periods. The ground floor showcases Viking Dublin, the first floor covers post-Viking medieval times, and the third floor delves into the technical aspects of excavation and history hunting. Visitors can expect interactive displays, informative panels, and even the chance to try on Viking clothes!
One of the highlights of Dublinia is the Living History sessions and guided tours that are available daily. These sessions bring history to life with re-enactments and demonstrations, making the experience both educational and entertaining. Families, in particular, will find Dublinia to be a fun and engaging outing, as children can participate in hands-on activities and learn about history in an immersive way.
